<description>This is such a wonderful article - I was just reading it again, as if for the first time. You must send it to some of the music publications - Strings Magazine, perhaps Strad, Limelight here in Australia, perhaps even to some of the Newspaper&#039;s here. You might even get some $$$! Well of course you would.

You are a champion...

		<description>Dear Elisse,
Thank you for your beautiful blog, and your energy in launching Sistema Australia. I just dropped a note to Christopher Nichols earlier today. I am pretty involved in the El Sistema USA movement--as Senior Advisory to the center and consultant with several of its cities. I will be in Australia for a month of workshops, meetings and speeches in November-December. (Not focusing on El Sistema.) I wondered if I might meet and contribute to your work in some way. I will come to Australia via a week in Scotland where I will be meeting the people in Sistema Scotland. Bravo on the good work, beautiful writing, and hopes to meet.

<description>I believe this is possible yes. But the road is long and the hills, valleys, rivers and mountains we must cross to achieve the goal is a lifetime. It requires unheralded passion, dedication, commitment and devotion to the cause...

I the words of Daniel Sumegi, the Australian Bass Baritone:

‘‘You have to be extremely passionate about it, you have to want to do it, and do anything required to do it, without excuses or falling back. If you are not prepared to do that, don’t bother. It’s a life of sacrifice, no stability, no (ordinary) friends, a life on the road, and a life not necessarily of loneliness but of being alone. If you are not prepared for that, you should probably just sing for pleasure.’’

He was of course referring to being an opera singer, but it&#039;s the same for what we are doing and you are talking about, above...

Ask Maestro Abreu about his life when you meet him. But look he did!

Best always,
